The Washington Post says:

Beck’s sometimes outrageous pronouncements — he infamously said that President Obama has “a deep-seated hatred for white people” — were good for drawing attention and viewers, but they made him radioactive among sponsors. They also put him out of step with Fox News’ overall ethic, which is heavy on pugnacious conservative commentary but eschews the sort of apocalyptic rhetoric Beck favors.

Leading conservatives have taken issue with Beck lately, too. Pat Buchanan and neoconservative columnist William Kristol, among others, criticized Beck’s comments about the Middle East after Beck asserted that the uprisings were part of an alliance between American liberals and Muslims seeking to create a caliphate that would spread radical Islamic ideology across the region.

The LA Times added:

News of Beck’s ouster was greeted with jubilation among his liberal critics. The left-leaning website Huffington Post featured a picture of the host with the giant headline: “IT’S OVER.”

“His behavior went from erratic to completely unhinged,” said Ari Rabin-Havt, executive vice president of Media Matters, a liberal watchdog group that has long attacked Beck. “Ultimately Fox had no choice but to make this decision.”

But Harrison cautioned that liberals should not divine any larger political meaning in Beck’s exit.

“A little dip in the ratings, and suddenly people think the whole conservative movement is going down,” he said. “When people watch Beck or O’Reilly or Hannity or Howard Stern, it’s not necessarily equivalent to saying ‘I agree with them.’ That’s one of the biggest myths in broadcasting. Lots of people listen to these guys because they hate them.”

 

As the fight against Unions and Democrats commences, Scott Walker has decided to lead the charge against one of the last vestiges of liberal support.

Unions firmly lean to the left, so it only makes evil sense that Scott Walker will ruthlessly bust them up under the guise of fiscal responsibility.

During the SuperBowl pregame show it has become a tradition for a leading anchor of the host network to get an exclusive interview — This year, the SuperBowl was held on Fox and of course they chose old man spot face Bill O’Reilly as their goto emcee.

It is absolutely amazing how little respect that entire network has for The President of the United States. Bill O’Reilly had no problem interrupting the president more than 20 times in the 15-minute interview. What’s ridiculous is that O’Reilly is now saying it was not an “interview” but a friendly discussion between two good friends — this must be to excuse the 22 times he interrupted the President, what a joke. As if the President would spend 30 seconds with you tool if he didn’t have to. O’Reilly constantly talked over the president. It shows that O’Reilly is a man with no class, and an over inflated sense of self worth. He’s an embarrassment to the journalism profession and is the reason why the rest of the world has such contempt for us as a county.

O’Reilly spent much of the beginning of the interview discussing Egypt. It was a non-starter and of course Obama didn’t take the bait — things are going to take time and there’s basically nothing we can do now other than let itself play out.

On the issue of health care, O’Reilly asked the president if he was concerned about a ruling by a federal judge in Florida that the health care overhaul is unconstitutional.

Obama said this: “Well, I think the judge in Florida was wrong. Keep in mind that we’ve had 12 judges that just threw this case out — the notion that the health care law was unconstitutional.” The president said the health care law was not an effort to bolster “big government,” as some have contended. “In this country there is no reason why if you get sick you should go bankrupt.”

At which point, Obama needed to educate O’Reilly about the US Court system. God, you and Palin are peas in a pod.

O’Reilly pressed the president on whether he has moved toward the center, especially since the midterm elections in which Republicans made big gains. Obama denied that he had changed ideologically at all. “Over the first two years of my presidency, we had a complete disaster, Right? We had a complete crisis.

The financial markets were breaking down. We were slipping into a great depression. And we had to take a bunch of extraordinary steps in order to make sure that the economy was growing again — which it is now growing — making sure that the private sector was creating jobs again — it’s now doing that — and now our focus is not on refighting the battles of the last two years.”

In one part of the interview O’Reilly asked Obama about the Super Bowl, and he tried to force him to pick a winner, then he even implied that Obama does not know football, what an idiot.

O’Reilly tried to get Obama to say which team would win. “Once my Bears lost,” Obama said, “I don’t pick sides.”

“So you don’t care,” O’Reilly said.

“Well, no,” Obama said. “I do care. I want a great game. I want a great game.”

“You don’t care who wins,” O’Reilly interrupted.

Obama continued: “But these are pretty evenly matched teams. I think that Green Bay is probably a little faster. Steelers got a little more experience. I think the Steelers not having their starting center is something that they’ve got to be worried about.”

O’Reilly asked repeatedly if Obama would actually watch the Super Bowl, and the president insisted he would, noting that he was having a party.

O’Reilly asked, “You know football? You know like blitzes and coverage and all that?”

“Oh, I know football, man,” Obama said, adding that once the game starts “I don’t want people coming up and chitting and chatting.”

In another part of the interview O’Reilly tried to make Obama admit he wants to redistribute wealth, but Obama denied it.

O’REILLY: Do you deny the assessment? Do you deny that you are a man who wants to redistribute wealth.

OBAMA: Absolutely.

O’REILLY: You deny that?

OBAMA: Absolutely. I didn’t raise taxes once, I lowered taxes over the last two years.

Then O’Reilly got punked on the health care polls, Obama called him out on his lies about the polls.

O’REILLY: But the entitlements that you championed do redistribute wealth in the sense that they provide insurance coverage for 40 million people that don’t have it.

OBAMA: What is absolutely true is I think in this country, there’s no reason why, if you get sick you should go bankrupt. The notion that that’s a radical principle, I don’t think the majority of people would agree with you.

O’REILLY: Then why do the majority people in the polls not support Obamacare?

OBAMA: Actually, I think it’s pretty evenly divided.

O’REILLY: It’s close.

OBAMA: It’s evenly divided, Bill.

O’REILLY: Yeah, some people see it that way, but other people see it’s a huge government intrusion and you guy just want to take over, basically, decision making for Americans. It’s an ideological argument.

OBAMA: But, Bill, I just want to be clear about this, because if you look what we have done, what we said was, if you have health care that you like, you keep it.

O’REILLY: I know all that. I listen to it every day.

OBAMA: I know. And I listen to you. And what I hear you saying, Bill, for example, is that the notion that us saying to people that don’t have health insurance, don’t make me pay for your health insurance, if you get sick, you have a responsibility to make sure that you have got coverage.

There’s nothing socialist about that, that’s saying to Americans, we’re going each of us be responsible for our own health care. And that’s something that I think that the majority of Americans…

O’REILLY: OK, but you understand that a lot of Americans feel you’re a big government liberal who wants to intrude on their personal freedom. Now, they also say that you have been moving — now, that’s — come on, you know that…

OBAMA: I think that a lot of folks who watch you don’t believe that.

O’REILLY: They think way worse than me. But the pundits now say you’re moving to the center to raise your approval, is that true, are you moving to the center?

OBAMA: No.

O’REILLY: No? Because we were set up over there, and then they moved you a little to the center.

Here is the hate question.

O’REILLY: I asked this to President Bush when I talked to him a few weeks ago. Does it disturb you that so many people hate you?

Then Obama laughed, and O’Reilly said this.

O’REILLY: No. I mean, it’s a serious question.

OBAMA: You know, the truth is, that the people — and I’m sure previous presidents would say the same thing, whether it was Bush or Clinton or Reagan or anybody. The people who dislike you don’t know you.

O’REILLY: They hate you.

OBAMA: Even — the folks who hate you, they don’t know you.

O’REILLY: That’s true.

Yeah O’Reilly they hate him, but you fail to mention that a lot of them are racists, and all of them are Republicans or in the Tea Party. The only people who hate Obama are on the right, funny how O’Reilly never mentioned that.

A far-reaching anti-choice bill, introduced by Republican Chris Smith and supported by 173 members of the House, includes a provision that could redefine rape in the realm of federal funding for reproductive health care.

Right now, federal dollars can’t be used for abortion except in cases of rape, incest, or when the woman’s life is in danger. But the Smith bill would narrow that use to “cases of ‘forcible’ rape but not statutory or coerced rape.”

John Edwards is a Jerk

Poor Elizabeth Edwards. Not only has she been publicly humiliated on an international scale, but her husband additionally teed it up for Elizabeth to be blamed by Sally Quinn and others for being an “enabler.” I agree with Lee Woodruff that we shouldn’t blame the victim here.

It’s all well and good that John Edwards says he wasn’t in love with that New Age loon he was shagging while announcing that he was running for President of the United States (bold, you say?). And how nice for him that he got it off his chest by telling his wife every painful detail.

He really put her between the proverbial rock and a hard place. What was she supposed to do, leave him? Force him to go public with it instead of running for President? What good would that do? She was simultaneously battling cancer and taking care of her young family. And as a long-time a loyal campaigner for her husband, she’d also invested a lot of herself into his career- so she’d hose herself, too, in more ways than one.

In my opinion, Elizabeth Edwards didn’t “enable” John Edwards to have an adulterous affair. It really takes a special kind of narcissism and self centeredness to cheat on your sick wife while you’re announcing your run for President. By the time John unloaded his hurtful betrayal on Elizabeth, the affair with former New York barfly Rielle Hunter was, according to John, over (little did she know, L’Affair Edwards was to result in a subsequent, alleged love child). Unfortunately for Elizabeth, John was still lying.

You are an embarrassment and a cancer to us all. Your “Tea Party HD “response to the State of the Union further demonstrates what kind of narrow focused loony you are. Not only do you not have any meaningful suggestions for policy and budget reform but when you run around blasting everything that the federal government currently funds, you become dangerous to those most vulnerable constituents that depend on the support of our government. I pay exorbitant amount of taxes and I can tell you that I want my money to go to government programs that help people, invest in our future, and protect our way of life. I don’t care how much debt Bush has saddled us with, I want my money to go to things that matter and I don’t want it to just go into paying back the Chinese or funding large fences.
